Michelin-starred chef and author Vikas Khanna is all set to launch a non-fungible token (NFT) with Akshay.io. Khanna’s new limited-edition book ‘Sacred Foods of India’ will be released in physical and NFT forms on June 23 at an event in Dubai. The book will be unveiled by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Sharing the news, Khanna said in an Instagram post, “It took 8+ years to research, design, build and visualize this magnum opus. As a mission to bring India’s rich heritage to the world; Bringing you the majestic ‘Sacred Foods of India’. Unveiled on Next Generation Platform, Akshay NFT in Dubai on 23rd June.”
The ‘Sacred Foods of India’ is a book of recipes for a variety of foods and offerings served at many holy places in India. This is the 38th book written by Khanna.
Speaking about the book, Chef Khanna in another Instagram post said, “About 8 years ago I called Hemant ji with the idea of ’Sacred Foods of India’ from Vedic Cosmos. Sacred Food from Temples, Gurudwaras, Dargahs A simple idea of representing matter, Mother Teresa’s kitchen, Jain temples, synagogues, monasteries and fire temples. These are foods for the soul that also form communities. I want to bring to the world the one true power of India. I am honored to have.”
It is noted that this is Khanna’s first NFT collaboration.
