- Popular NFT project Doodle has named musician Pharrell Williams as its Chief Brand Officer.

Ethereum NFT project Doodles made a pair of important announcements at an event held tonight along with the NFT NYC conference, revealing that musician and producer Pharrell Williams will be joining the project and that it has led the venture capital firm Seven Seven Six. The first round of funding has been raised. ,
Williams, who recently entered the NFT arena with her own Gallery of Digital Assets (GODA) project, will join Doodle as Chief Brand Officer. In his new role, Williams will help shape the approach to collecting music, artwork, consumer products, animation and events.
“I’m a big fan of the brand,” Williams said in a pre-recorded video message at the event. “We are going to build out of the core community and take Doodle to new heights, new levels.”
Additionally, he will serve as executive producer on an album of doodle-inspired music titled “Doodles Records: Volume 1”, which will be released in partnership with Columbia Records. The album will feature “major recording artists,” according to a Doodle spokesperson, and will feature artwork by Doodle artist Scott “Burn Toast” Martin.
The Doodle album will be available to stream through a variety of platforms, but will only be sold via NFT. According to the representative, the Doodle Album NFT will be bundled with additional, as-yet-unspecified NFT collectibles.
Along with the news surrounding Williams, the creators of Doodle also announced that Seven Seven Six, the VC firm of Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, was leading a funding round in the project. This is the first capital raised for Doodle.

In a pre-recorded video message shown at the event, Ohanian said that Seven Seven Six planned to work with the Doodle team to “carry forward all the work they’ve done so far and share it with others.” level, it can be increased even further. Seven Seven Six co-founder Caitlin Holloway will join Williams’ board of the doodle.
The funding amount was not disclosed.
At the event, the creators also announced Doodles 2, a new NXT collection that will span the 10,000-plus avatars in the original collection and feature a wide array of wearables as well as traits. The avatars will not be issued on Ethereum, but the team did not announce on which blockchain the new collection will be released.
Doodle launched in October 2021 and has since become one of the most valuable NFT collections in the market. To date, according to data from CryptoSlam, it has generated approximately $500 million in secondary trading volume. Doodle recently introduced former Billboard chairman Julian Holgin as CEO.
NFTs act like proof of ownership of an item, and are most commonly used for digital goods such as unique profile pictures (such as doodles), as well as artwork, collectibles, and video game items.
Seven Seven Six previously invested in Moonbirds, an Ethereum NFT collection that launched this spring to the much-discussed. Moonbirds is from serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist Kevin Rose’s Web3 startup PROOF Collective and has raised $10 million from Seven Seven Six.
Ohanian, an outspoken NFT advocate and collector of projects including Cryptopunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club, has previously announced a Web3 co-investment initiative with both Solana and Polygon.
