A British industrialist originally from the region returned to Clearthorpes in his mission to deliver 100,000 face masks to local residents.
Dean Kronsbein, founder and president of Ultrafilter Medical – a multimillion-pound company that makes masks for NHS workers – handed out boxes of masks outside a Value for Money discount store on St Peter’s Avenue today.
It was all part of The Great British Mask Giveaway, a campaign aimed at helping protect the public in the ongoing fight against COVID-19 and giving one million face masks across the UK.

The company’s factory in Ross-on-Wye was established two years ago in response to the pandemic, where they began producing one million masks a day.
Dean told Grimsby Live that it was the overwhelming response to the products that prompted his decision to “contribute to the public” and donate the masks.

He said: “We decided to give away one million face masks across the UK, returning a donation to the public that we would like to see them wear, although the government has removed the mandatory aspect of wearing masks, that is not the case. Changed that the virus still remains.It still is.
“That hasn’t changed the fact that vulnerable people need to protect themselves, and those who don’t have enough resources to buy themselves and stay safe, we made a conscious decision to help those in need by providing a million It is a mask for the public.”
Speaking about his time living in Grimsby until he was 17, Dean said: “Growing up in Grimsby, we didn’t have much and I used to pick up potatoes during school holidays to earn extra money. Started working on a local farm.

“In those days, we were allowed to take home as many potatoes as we wanted for our families and I had the opportunity to create a home-delivery service for local housewives, taking orders for different types of potatoes before delivering them. door on a pedal bike I bought to get me to the farm and back.
