Actress-entrepreneur Lucky Lawson says she is so busy with work that sometimes she forgets even her friends’ birthdays.
Lucky Lawson revealed that she has become so engrossed in her restaurant, Lucky Place and real estate businesses that it seems like nothing is going on around her.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Luckey said, “It’s just work, chores, chores and taking care of the kids so much that I hardly know what else is happening around me. You won’t believe it but I might.” Only I really know what else is happening, it’s so serious.
“I sometimes forget my friends’ birthdays too and when I remember after about three or four days, I call them and always find a way to make it up for them.
“My friends are always fighting with me because I don’t even avail myself for birthday parties and other events like that, but I always find a way to make it up for them, there’s no two ways about it ,” He said.
Obviously, focusing on her own business is one way to stay out of trouble but Lucky says she spares no effort to stay out of trouble. “It’s just me, I’m too busy to be involved in anything else, it’s not intentional that it’s just me,” she said.
Does she make time to go to events? “Yes, I go to events if time permits and if I am given sufficient notice, I do well to attend some events, but not all the time, as long as my time will allow me, Why not? I’ll be there.”
Lucky said that he has stopped acting for the time being. “When the script comes and it will not interfere with the business in any way, I will go for it. For example, I shot a series called Storm last year, but if the shoot hampers my business then I am afraid I will have to reject it,” she said.
If asked to choose between acting and her restaurant, Lucky said that she would choose her restaurant. “If I get a good script and I shoot a film once a year, I will be fine, but as far as my restaurant is concerned, I am very excited for it. It is like the air I breathe. Also, in times like these, when you have family and kids, you cannot depend on movies.
“How many films are you shooting in a month or in a whole year? And how much are they paying you? You can’t just stick to acting so I will always choose my restaurant and real estate businesses over acting.”
Lucky argued that although she had been in the restaurant business for some time, it was not easy. “There is always room for improvement but I am not doing bad at all, if I am asked to rate myself I can confidently give myself a 10 out of 10. If I don’t then who will?
“I am always trying to give the best customer service and excellent service at my location located in East Legon.
Like some of his colleagues, Lucky doesn’t comment on current issues and that’s what he had to say. “Whether I comment or not, what will change? Whatever is bound to happen will happen so I don’t want to comment.
“If after talking so much, we don’t see any improvement in our health system and education or do not see anything that will make the country better, then it doesn’t make any sense,” he said.
